Why Stay at Larkstone?
With its elegant ornamental portico and large bay windows, Larkstone Villas comprises of two imposing Victorian terrace mansion houses, which have been split into three discrete flats. We are able to let the ground floor and basement flats, both of which are large enough to accommodate a maximum of 6 people.

Located in the centre of Ilfracombe, the flats are accessed via a short driveway off Barnstaple Road, and this provides
private off-road parking for up to four cars. There is also a gate for walkers to reach Hillsborough Road, and the harbour and beaches beyond, which are a 10-15 minute walk depending on your fitness!

Every effort has been made to make your stay pleasurable, and you will find an information folder in each flat with details of electrical equipment, emergency procedures and local information.

Larkstone Villas is a great seaside holiday venue, offering affordable accommodation for families with children, small groups, and seniors looking for a quiet sojourn close to the sea and the Victorian Pavilion.

The images to the left, displaying Larkstone's interiors, do not reflect the substantial redecoration and refurbishment which was carried out during 2003, raising the standard up to a new level of style and comfort. Check back to the site to see update images when they become available.

Why visit Ilfracombe & Devon?
Hidden from the excesses of the majestic Atlantic Ocean, the charming natural harbour of Ilfracombe continues to be as popular today as it was to the Victorians of 1830, whose legacy is still visible in the elegant architecture of the town.

With its shops, cafes and restaurants, the bustling harbour has a more continental feel; with fishing vessels jostling for space alongside the bobbing yachts, and colourful flower displays brightening up the streets and seafront. Getting afloat in the summer season is always easy, and Lundy Island is well worth the fair. The Landmark Theatre overlooking the seafront is North Devon's newest arts and entertainment complex, and offers an all year-round programme of events for all ages.

The stunning Torrs walks following the coastal footpath to Lee have been described as some of the finest walks in England. The unique Tunnels Beaches provide safe bathing areas with secluded beaches and pools, accessed through tunnels quarried beneath the cliffs - a young explorer's paradise of rock pools and sandy inlets for a perfect day out.

By Train

First Great Western run trains from London Paddington to Exeter St.Davids every hour, with a journey time of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Change at Exeter for Barnstaple Station, adding a further hour to the journey time. This station is about 11 miles from the cottage, to which you may catch a connecting First Red Bus 1, 2, 30. While it is possible to take a train most of the way there, we recommend that you either take your own car or hire one.
