Why Stay at
Hulham Cottage?
Hulham Cottage is a perfect place to get away to the seaside, with your partner, a small group or with your children. The rates have been structured to provide good value for money and the property, decor and furnishings are well-kept with comfort and children in mind.

Located in a charming residential area, the approach via the M5 and A376 is very easy, and make getting to the cottage painless. The vast 2 miles of sandy beaches are only a 5 minute drive away, and have a reputation for being both clean and safe for children.

This small attractive house contains two discrete flats on the ground and the first floors, and enjoys access to private off-road parking.

Both flats have adjustable central heating, and the gas and electricity charges are included in the tariff.

The Ground floor flat has a south facing conservatory. As of 2009 there is no longer access to the garden which has been sold to developers next door.

Every effort has been made to make your stay pleasurable, and you will find an information folder in each flat with details of electrical equipment, emergency procedures and tourist information.

Why visit Exmouth and Devon?
The East Devon Coast from Exmouth to Dorset has been officially ranked alongside the Great Barrier Reef and the Grand Canyon as one of the natural wonders of the world. The coast provides a walk through time of 185 million years of the earth's history and ensures extraordinarily beautiful scenery for ramblers and cyclists.

For National Trust enthusiasts, the 18th century house and costume collection of Killerton is an engaging way of spending a day, as is the the view from the last castle to be built in England; Castle Drogo, which has dramatic views over Dartmoor. A La Ronde is a curious 16-sided house built for the Parminter sisters in 1796 - good for a browse and afternoon tea!

Exmouth, the oldest seaside resort in Devon, offers the visitor good fishing, boating and golfing, as well as safe bathing for adults and children on its famous 2 mile beach of golden sand. People from Exeter used it for bathing early in the 18th century, and it is from that time that many of the town's finest buildings date. The town centre has a busy little harbour, and many interesting shops, cafes and restaurants.

When not on Exmouth's beach or Model Railway, children will have a good day out at nearby Crealy Adventure Park or at Pennywell Fun Farm, both of which are worth the short drive.

Nearby, Exeter is well worth a visit with its impressive 11th century cathedral, Albert Museum Gallery, upmarket shops, and boat trips on the River Exe.

Important Details about the Cottage
Ground Floor Flat 1

One main bedroom accommodates four people in one 5-foot double bed and one bunk-bed. We recommend that the flat is used by two adults and two children, but the sturdy bunk bed is 3 foot and can sleep two average-sized adults.

The toilet facilities include a bath and shower, with shaving points and heated towel rail. The cosy lounge is well furnished with comfortable chairs (2-seater and 2 arm chairs), gate-leg table and chairs, and a colour TV & DVD. There is a light, south-facing conservatory.

The small kitchen includes an electric cooker, extractor, kettle, 3-shelf refrigerator, 3-drawer freezer, microwave oven and a small spin drier.

First Floor Flat 2
One small bedroom provides accommodation for 2 people in two single beds, while the lounge has a comfortable double sofa-bed. We recommend that this flat is best used by two adults in the main bedroom, with a child on the sofa bed in the lounge. Families or couples whose number merit it, might consider booking both flats for maximum comfort.

The facilities are identical to Flat 1 (excluding the conservatory and spin dryer), but with the advantage of the rooms being a little bigger and lighter. The communal grounds maybe accessed using the main external staircase.

How do I get there?
By Train

First Great Western run trains from London Paddington to Exeter St.Davids every hour, with a journey time of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Change at Exeter for Exmouth Station, adding a further 30 minutes to the journey time. The station is about 3 miles from the cottage. While it is possible to take a train there, we recommend that you either take your own car or hire one.

By Road
Leave the M5 Motorway just before it ends at Junction 30, and take the A376 down towards Exmouth. Shortly after the A376 changes from Exmouth Road and becomes Exeter Road, turn left into Featherbed Lane, then 2nd left into Hulham Road. Finally take the first right into Marley Road, and as the road bends to the left, Hulham Cottage will appear on the right. Use the AA Route Planner to get directions from your own door.
